Our Mission

Team

Bharat Samaj is a mission and a movement. To succeed as such, it must win the adherence and support of a large and growing number of people in the country, that can come about only on the strengof a genuine understanding of the purpose and significance of the new organisation. To furnish an answer to the question: "Why Bhart Sevak Samaj"?, it shall restate the major assumption underlying the conception of the Samaj.

Activities

Hindi Samaj organises a variety of activities throughout the year. Read below for details about our events.

Indradhanush
An annual multicultural event held in March/April every year and attended by a large audience of all backgrounds. Presenting different colours and traditions from all over India, it gives a good taste of India to everyone who attends. It brings together very talented artists from Perth presenting some very entertaining and interesting acts.

Phulwari
A programme dedicated solely to the exposure of the young talent in the Indian community, also held once a year. Children are given an opportunity to perform on stage in front of the audience. Come along and be surprised with how much talent our little buddies have in them. You would also be treated with tasty mouth watering ‘Chaat’ which is another highlight of the event.

Sangeet Sandhya:
Sangeet Sandhya – Ek Shaam Sangeet ke Naam added to HSWA’s calendar for the first time in 2009 was a big success with more than 25 artists coming together showcasing some of the best Hindi music talent in Perth. Attended by over 100 people, it was an event enjoyed by people of all ages and interests. With some Bollwyood music, live karaoke performances, Indian fusion and classical music, added with some shero shayari and hasye kavita, everyone had a relaxing and entertaining evening. The best part of this event is that we have kept it very informal and you don’t have to be a good artist to come and perform with us. If you feel like doing something, you are more than welcome to, there are NO auditions. Hindi Samaj of WA will keep this going every year and also try to make it more frequent.

Picnic
Traditionally an annual event has been held around Father’s Day for the last two years it is a great way to meet and mingle with new arrivals and past members of HSWA and spend the day with friends and family.

Bharat ko Jano Pratiyogita
Bharat ko Jano Pratiyogita was also organised for the first time in 2009, where 4 teams of 4 people each from all age groups participated. A lot of facts about India were discovered by participants and audience. It was a fun exercise as teams had a good mix of people and team work made it even more interesting. Questions ranging from Bollywood to religion, geography to History, all were mixed in the right proportions to give everyone a chance to be a winner.

Along with all these activities, Hindi Samaj also participates in other community events all year round in Perth and intends to add many more exciting and culturally inclined events to our calendar.
